The Future of Perimeter Screening Technology is Here
None of the Divestment, All of the Security
No need for acrobatics, gymnastics, and unnecessary complex operations to overcome the shortcomings of your weapon detection system.
Xtract One Gateway is purpose-built for weapons detection in environments with medium volume of personal belongings. Our system eliminates the need for heavy x-ray machines or separate bag lines and searches. Cut down on secondary screening/bag checks by up to 4x and let individuals keep their bags with them.
No more holding laptops above your head and other unnecessary acrobatics that work around the shortcomings of your security solutions. No more waiting for conveyer belts to scan personal items. Instead, Gateway adapts to you. And, everyone — regardless of what they’re carrying — walks through the same checkpoint.
Unobtrusively scan individuals, their pockets, and bags for mass casualty items while distinguishing non-threatening objects like laptops, 3-ring binders, spiral notebooks, phones, water bottles, and other personal belongings. Xtract One Gateway will secure access into and out of facilities, while not impacting ingress or egress.
Unpack Threats, Not Bags
- Weapons detection without alerts on laptops
- Keep individuals moving with their bags and personal belongings on their person not on conveyor belts
- Minimize time and labor on secondary screenings
- Screen up to 3000 individuals per hour per lane with minimal training

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Xtract One Gateway detects specific threat objects like firearms and identifies both the type of threat and its location on the individual’s body. It does this while accurately distinguishing weapons from the everyday items people carry, including laptops, tablets, phones, keys, eyeglass cases, and the contents of backpacks. When the system alerts, security staff know exactly what they are responding to and where to look.
No. Individuals walk through at a natural pace without removing laptops, emptying pockets, or separating bags from their person. Xtract One Gateway scans the individual and their belongings simultaneously. There are no conveyor belts, no divestment bins, and no requirement to hold bags overhead.
Walk-through metal detectors alert on any metal object, which means phones, keys, belts, and laptops all trigger the same response as a weapon. Staff are left sorting through alerts on items that pose no risk. Xtract One Gateway uses AI-powered detection to identify specific threat objects rather than detecting metal broadly. The result is accurate alerts that carry real information, and a secondary screening process that is purposeful rather than constant.
Xtract One Gateway processes up to 3,000 individuals per hour per lane. Because individuals move through at a natural walking pace without stopping or divesting, throughput stays high even during peak arrival periods.
Xtract One Gateway is designed for environments where individuals carry medium volumes of personal belongings — schools, medical centers, corporate campuses, manufacturing and distribution facilities, and places of worship. It is well-suited for schools running one-to-one device programs or environments where individuals routinely carry laptops, backpacks, and personal electronics as part of their daily routine.
Yes. Detection settings are customizable to match your facility’s security requirements and the population moving through your entry points. Xtract One Gateway can be configured to screen for threats on ingress and to protect against asset removal on egress, and settings can be adjusted over time as your operational needs change.
There is no prescribed bag size restriction. Backpacks, laptop bags, handbags, and similar personal items can all be carried through without removal. The system is built to distinguish the contents of those bags accurately, alerting on specific threat objects while recognizing everyday items for what they are.
No. Xtract One Gateway does not function like an X-ray machine and does not display bag contents on a screen. When an alert occurs, the system indicates the type of threat object detected and its approximate location on the individual. Privacy is preserved for everyone moving through the system.
The two pillars are positioned 92 cm (36 inches) apart, measured between their inside faces. This is the scanning window individuals move through during screening.
Xtract One Gateway requires a 3-foot exclusion zone around the pillars during operation. Because it scans bags and individuals together rather than requiring separate bag screening equipment, it reduces the overall space needed at an entry point compared to systems that require additional X-ray stations or dedicated bag check areas.
Xtract One Gateway is designed to operate with minimal training. The interface is straightforward, and because the system provides specific alert information rather than generating constant undifferentiated alerts, staff can focus their attention on genuine security events rather than managing high volumes of false positives.
When Xtract One Gateway detects a threat object, the LED indicators on the Guide side of the system change to indicate the approximate location of the detected item on the individual’s body. The tablet display reflects the same information. The individual is directed to secondary screening, where staff use the location information provided by the system as their starting point.
Individuals using powered mobility devices should speak with facility staff, who can direct them through the facility’s alternative secondary screening procedures. Staff should have documented accommodation protocols in place before deployment so these interactions can be handled without improvisation and with the dignity the individual deserves.
Xtract One Gateway emits an active electromagnetic field that is significantly below the maximum allowable intensity for human exposure as established by the ICNIRP, IEEE, and NHMRC. Individuals with implanted or wearable medical devices, including pacemakers, should consult their physician and device manufacturer for specific guidance. Those with concerns can walk around the system and follow the facility’s secondary screening procedures.
Yes. The electromagnetic field strength at the center of the scanning window is well below the recommended exposure limits for general public use as established by the ICNIRP, IEEE, and NHMRC. No specific exceptions are noted for pregnant individuals or children within these guidelines, as they are included under general public provisions. Individuals with concerns should walk around the device and follow the facility’s secondary screening procedures.
Xtract One provides software updates to ensure the system remains current. Updates can be verified and managed through Xtract One View, the centralized cloud platform for Gateway management. If your system is running an older software version, the Xtract One team can assist with updating before deployment.
Yes. Xtract One View provides centralized management across multiple Gateway units and entry points from a single platform. For facilities running multiple systems in close proximity, Xtract One Gateway includes RF synchronization functionality, known as a “Pod” that coordinates systems operating within a 20-foot radius, with one system designated as the lead and others operating as followers.
